LUISARTIST

VISION STATEMENT

I am both a visual artist and a martial artist from New York City. I find my zen whenever I put my paintbrush to my paper or stylus to my tablet. For the past 14 years, I have worked as a Graphic Designer. My goal is to share my work, knowledge, and passion for art!

My vision as an art educator is to provide students with a creative space to explore visual art making. Visual arts develop a person’s ability to be creative, imaginative, and innovative. They are specific habits of mind that require a student to seek understanding of ideas in an empathetic way, be persistent with tasks, critically think about the world around them, and constantly seek to problem solve.

Being born and raised in NYC and a product of the public school system has allowed me to learn in a very diverse environment and culture. It enabled me to gain an understanding and appreciation for differences of opinions and perspectives. My goal is to inspire a new generation of artists to communicate their perspective ideas based on the knowledge and experiences of the world around them.
